RPMI Festival in Review: The Symphony of Medical Imaging

Lectures, poster sessions, a sound quiz, and several awards: On June 12th, the Research Platform Medical Imaging (RPMI) hosted an exciting event titled "The Symphony of Medical Imaging."

Waves and frequencies play an essential role not only in music but also in medical imaging.

Building on this theme, the seventh RPMI festival showcased the diverse possibilities of how imaging tools can be skillfully utilized and combined in medicine.

The full-day event in the Van Swieten Hall offered a varied program of poster presentations, info booths, discussion rounds, and short talks.

The keynote speaker was Danish brain researcher and jazz musician Peter Vuust from the Center for Music in the Brain in Aarhus.

Award-Winning Highlights

The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony: Lena Zachhuber designed the best poster, Daniela Prinz delivered the best presentation, and Verena Pichler won the sound quiz.

Katarína Benčurová, David Haberl, and Pia Falb received travel funding of €1000 each to support their attendance at upcoming conferences.

Save the date: The next RPMI Festival will take place on June 9, 2026.
